Teaching

Since February of 2022, Mike has been Teaching a TV Sportscasting class at the University of Delaware.  It is a comprehensive hands-on class that teaches all aspects of TV sportscasting. The students learn the positions within the TV crew: from working behind the scenes to on-camera including play-by-play, color commentary, sideline reporting, interviewing, studio hosting and more!  The Class works hands on with the Blue Hens All-Access group which produces and streams multiple sports, along with STN49: the Student TV Station. The class has also been on trips to the Chase Field House in Wilmington, DE and observed the A-10 Women's Basketball Championship game - sitting in on the ESPN TV truck, watching and learning how the producer and director operate, shadowing the replay operations, and putting on the headsets to hear what the broadcasters are listening to during a game.
